The 3M™ 1860 Health Care Particulate Respirator and Surgical Mask is designed to help provide respiratory protection for the wearer. This product has a filter efficiency level of 95% or greater against particulate aerosols free of oil. It is fluid resistant, disposable and may be worn in surgery. It can fit a wide range of face sizes. This product contains no components made from natural rubber latex.
INTENDED USE: This product meets CDC guidelines for Mycobacterium tuberculosis exposure control. As a respirator, it is intended to reduce wearer exposure to certain airborne particles in a size range of 0.1 to >10.0 microns, including those generated by electrocautery, laser surgery, and other powered medical instruments. As a surgical mask, it is designed to be fluid resistant to splash and spatter of blood and other infectious materials; when worn properly and in combination with protective eyewear, it complies with the OSHA Bloodborne Pathogens Standard. It also provides >99% BFE against wearer generated micro-organisms.

1860 help reduce the wearer’s inhalation exposure to certain airborne particulates. These respirator filters have been tested and certified by NIOSH to be at least 95% efficient when tested against very “small” particles that are the most difficult size to filter (approximately 0.3 microns).They provide greater than 99% bacterial filtration efficiency against wearer generated particles according to the Modified Greene and Velsey test method. They are also fluid resistant to help reduce exposure to blood and body fluids.
Intended to be worn by operating room personnel during surgical procedures to help protect both the surgical patient and the operating room personnel from transfer of microorganisms, body fluids, and particulate material.
Before each use, the filter mask should be inspected. Except for the headband fixing nail holes, confirm that there are no holes or other damage in the respiratory area. If the filter material tears or wears out and the headband fixing nail holes expand, it should be regarded damaged. Damaged protective masks should be replaced immediately. The nail hole of the headband fixing nail does not affect NIOSH certification.
